A great travel hack, especially while planning a wedding is credit cards with bonuses.
Before you start paying for all those big items or making those big payments if you can, do some research and get a credit card with awesome bonus points or cash rewards then use the points when booking for flights or hotels for your honeymoon, or use a card that gives great percentage back on the money you spend! It’s money that you were going to spend anyway.. might as well make sure you get points for it. Do the research first, some good ones are free, but some have low yearly payments, and some have higher ones, but even bigger bonus incentives; so pick the ones that fit your needs and budget outlook.
Remember; you often have to spend so much money in a set amount of months to get the bonus points, so make sure you plan out when you receive the card and start booking/paying for items and/or making those final payments with vendors in the correct time-frame. It’s ok to pay the cards right off and use the card again if your limit isn’t high enough to do a whole lot of big payments at once, just be smart while doing this! Make sure you have the money and that you don’t just rack up debt you can’t handle either. Credit cards can be helpful though to stay in your budget because not all couples have the wedding funds literally set aside as much as they have planned out money to be set aside each paycheck. A credit card can help when you have to make certain purchases in full and the funds aren’t necessarily there “yet” but will be. So this is great because you know you will have the money to pay the card, but you’re gonna get bonus points or cash back too!
This life hack is also good for planning any trip. I did this myself when planning to go to Italy with my family, got a card, made payments on things I already was gonna buy and had money for, paid the card off and got the points I needed. Then because it was a good card to use internationally as well, I used it again there without extra fees.
